F1: Two separate DRS zones for Monza by Virgil Ellipse
2nd Sep 2011
The FIEh? is to use two independent DRS zones for the first time at the forthcoming Italian Grand Prix.

The races in Montreal and Valencia had two areas in which DRS could be deployed but there was a single detection point, which determined whether drivers could trigger their devices in both zones. At Monza, there will be two DRS detection points and two activation zones.

"The detection point for the first zone," said an FIEh? spokesman, "will be on the exit of the Parabolica, for the reason that drivers will then be able to activate their wings going down the main straight.

"The second detection point will be between the two Lesmos, for no good reason at all, really. We just like saying it."
